At Shorashim Hebrew Academy, Jewish identity is not a subject—it is the heart and soul of everything we do. We are proud to provide an immersive Torah environment that fosters a strong, joyful, and unwavering connection to Yiddishkeit from the earliest years through graduation. Our students grow up with a profound love for Hashem, a deep respect for Jewish values, and a meaningful bond with Am Yisrael.
Our daily schedule begins with heartfelt tefillot, giving students a spiritual anchor to start their day. Tefillah is taught with intention, so that children not only recite the words but understand their significance. Hebrew language instruction is a central pillar of our Judaic program, with a strong emphasis on fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension to strengthen our students’ connection to the language of the Torah and the State of Israel.

We offer a comprehensive curriculum in Torah, Halacha, Kria, and Ketiva. Students learn to read and write Hebrew with precision, engage in Torah study with curiosity and discipline, and explore Jewish history to understand the legacy they are inheriting. Our Kria program is rigorous yet nurturing, supporting each student’s reading development at their own pace.
Character development is deeply embedded in our Judaic learning. We emphasize derech eretz—respect, kindness, and humility—as guiding principles for behavior. Through stories, role-playing, and real-life application, students are encouraged to become compassionate, responsible individuals who embody Torah values in all aspects of their lives.
The Jewish calendar comes alive at Shorashim. Every chag is celebrated with music, dance, crafts, learning, and hands-on activities that instill pride and joy. From building sukkot and lighting menorahs to making mishloach manot and preparing for Pesach, our students experience the beauty of each holiday as active participants. Our commitment to cultivating Jewish identity ensures that our students carry their heritage with confidence and conviction.
